Akimbo is an American DJ, producer, and live musician based in Seoul. Founder of the Tonal Unity record label, he has been featured on BBC Radio 1, Worldwide FM, and Boiiler Room. He DJs and performs live at events across Asia and Europe, performing solo or with collaborating musicians. Known for blending an array of global genres, his work with Asian sounds and artists is currently his primary focus.

아킴보는 미국에서 태어났고 서울에서 활동하고 있는 디제이, 프로듀서이자 라이브 뮤지션이다. 레코드 레이블 토널유니티의 창조자이기도 한 그는 BBC 라디오 1, 월드와이드 FM, 보일러룸에서도 소개된 경력이 있다. 아시아와 유럽을 넘나들며 디제잉과 솔로 혹은 뮤지션들과 콜라보를 하며 라이브 퍼포먼스로 활발하게 활동 중이다.
그는 무수한 글로벌적인 장르를 융합하며 최근에는 아시안 사운드와 아티스트들에 중점을 두고 흥미로운 작업을 하고 있다.

Tell us about what you are doing these days
I’ve started a record label named Tonal Unity, focused on organic downtempo sounds from Asia. Our 2nd vinyl release will be out this September. I’ve also been collaborating with Korean traditional musicians for live performance projects.
